Andrea Minuz

Andrea Minuz is a professor at the University of Rome La Sapienza, where he teaches History of Cinema and Screenplay Theory and Analysis. In recent years, he has focused his research on post-war Italian cinema and public intervention policies in the audiovisual industry. He is the author of various monographs and edited volumes, including *Dell’incantamento, Hitchcock, Bergman, Fellini e il motivo dello sguardo* (Iperemedium, 2009), *La Shoah e la cultura visiva. Cinema, memoria, spazio pubblico* (Bulzoni – Limina Prize for Best Italian Film Book 2010); Fellini politico (Rubbettino, 2012), translated into English by Berghahn Books (Oxford); Viaggio al termine dell’Italia (Berghahn, 2015); Murnau. L’arte di evocare fantasmi (EdS, 2010); L’invenzione del Luogo. Spaces of the Cinematic Imagination (ETS, 2011); Steven Spielberg (Marsilio, 2019), as well as essays and articles published in Italian and international academic journals. His latest book is Fellini, Rome (Rubbettino, 2020). He is a member of the Ministry of Culture’s advisory committee for the film and audiovisual sector, and of the scientific committee of the Pesaro International Film Festival. He writes articles on Italian and international magazines, media and television for the daily newspaper “Il Foglio”.
