Andrés Arce Maldonado

He was born in Bogotá, Colombia, in 1972. After studying music at the conservatoire, he left Colombia to move to Rome, where he studied cinematography at the R. Rossellini Institute, graduating in film editing and specialising in film directing in Edinburgh (Stevenson College) and New York (NYU). In the years that followed, he studied sociology at La Sapienza University of Rome. A film director, director of photography, editor and independent filmmaker, he is also a musician — playing saxophone and guitar — as well as a photographer and video artist.
