Christian Uva

Christian Uva is a Full Professor at the DAMS Department of Roma Tre University, where he teaches Italian Cinema and Cinema and Technology. He serves as a Board Member and Vice President of the Film Commission Foundation of Rome and Lazio, a Board Member of the Roma Tre Teatro Palladium Foundation, and Vice President of the University Council for Cinema (CUC). He is also the founder and co-editor of Cinema e Storia. Journal of Interdisciplinary Studies (Rubbettino) and a member of the editorial board of “L’Avventura. International Journal of Italian Film and Media Landscapes” (Il Mulino). Among his most recent publications: L’ultima spiaggia. Rive e derive del cinema italiano (2021, Nicolò Lombardo Prize – Efebo d’Oro and Limina Prize from the Consulta Universitaria del Cinema), the edited volume Animation Film. Contemporary Scenarios from Cartoons to Video Games (Carocci, 2023), and Toy Story (with M. Vita, Carocci, 2025). He is currently the Principal Investigator of the PRIN 2022 project titled “The Golden Age of Italian Animation. From the Economic Boom to the Years of Lead (1957–1977).”
