Born in Genoa, raised on focaccia and pesto before adopting carbonara and cacio e pepe after moving to Rome, Davide Dellacasa began his professional career almost by chance, teaching customers at the only Apple store how to use a computer — a job that allowed him to buy an Apple II with post-dated checks. Among his early experiences as an instructor was a desktop publishing course at the LUISS School of Journalism: a sign of what would become the central theme of his entire professional life, sitting at the crossroads of digital publishing and consulting. After earning a degree in Economics from LUISS, in 1997 he founded the first Italian website dedicated to cinema, 35mm.it. In 2004, together with his wife Silvia, he launched Brad&K Productions — now Italy’s leading agency in digital communications for the film industry — and Screenweek.it, a publishing network that gives the agency a unique perspective on the market, alongside Cineguru.biz and its podcast. Over the course of twenty years in the industry, he has contributed, through the agency, to the launch of over 500 films for major international and national distributors. Bringing technology to places where it hadn’t yet arrived, making it understandable and useful to those working in the most diverse sectors: this is what he did yesterday, what he does today, and what makes him enthusiastic about contributing to Anica Academy.
