Davide Rosio

Davide Rosio, Co-Founder, CEO, and Creative Director of Movimenti Production. A graduate of the IED (European Institute of Design), he began his career as an animator and character designer, working for various agencies and production studios in Milan. In 2004, he founded Movimenti Production with Giorgio Scorza, a production company and animation studio that has produced various international short films and TV series over the years, such as Lupo (seasons 1 and 2) and Topo Gigio (Pulcinella Awards 2020, Moige Award 2021), whose second season was produced following the success of the first in Italy and abroad.
For several years, Davide Rosio has taught animation cinema and digital animation at the IED, and he personally oversees the recruitment and training of the artistic and production staff involved in finalizing projects in development.
In 2019, he founded the DogHead Animation studio in Florence with Giorgio Scorza, where Zerocalcare’s Netflix series Strappare Lungo i Bordi was also produced; produced by Movimenti Production, the series also features Davide Rosio as technical co-director. The series was released worldwide in November 2021 and has won several awards, including Best TV Series at the 2022 Diversity Media Awards and the Nastro dell’anno at the 2022 Nastri d’Argento Grandi Serie, while more recently it triumphed at FeST – The TV Series Festival 2022 in five categories, including Directing and Scripted Series of the Year, as well as being awarded the Globo d’Oro — the film award presented by the foreign press accredited in Italy — for Best TV Series. On June 9, 2023, Netflix released Questo mondo non mi renderà cattivo, Zerocalcare’s second series, once again produced by Movimenti Production and directed by Giorgio Scorza and Davide Rosio.
