Deborah Belford De Furia

Born and raised in New York, Deborah Belford De Furia initially worked as a stage actress before moving to Rome. She trained as an assistant, working alongside American story editors Dara Marks and Linda Seger. After becoming a story editor, she served as a consultant for Medusa Film for over sixteen years, collaborating with Rai and Mediaset, as well as numerous independent producers in Italy, the United Kingdom, Ireland, and the United States, in addition to working with established directors and writers, including Marco Bellocchio, Hugh Hudson, and Goran Paskajevic. Today she is a screenwriter, script consultant, ghostwriter, translator, and teacher. Most recently, she co-wrote Haiku on a Plum Tree with director Mujah Maraini-Melehi.
