Emanuele Marchesi

Emanuele Marchesi is currently Head of Development for the Italian division of Sky Studios. In this role, he has overseen the writing of series such as *Christian*, *Romulus*, *Il re*, and *Blocco 181*, Sky’s first in-house production. In addition, he is currently overseeing the numerous new Sky Originals set to debut in the coming years and is on the lookout for new series concepts and emerging writing talent.
Originally from Piacenza, he earned a degree in Communication Sciences from the University of Bologna and a Ph.D. in Literary Theory from the University of Siena, always with a particular focus on audiovisual language. After completing his studies, he began working in television as a writer and editor, later moving into communications for Sky’s Cinema channels. He has been part of Nils Hartmann and Sonia Rovai’s Original Production team since 2018.
