Maddalena Ravagli

Born in Faenza and having graduated in Political Science in Bologna, she went on to complete a European Master’s degree in audiovisual techniques. She then began working in the film industry in Naples as an assistant director for Pappi Corsicato, Antonio Capuano, Stefano Incerti and Mario Martone, while at the same time directing several short films, including Crash – The Rationalisation of Sexual Work, which won an award at Bellaria in 1995.
After winning the Solinas Prize in 1999, she began her career as a screenwriter.
Her first feature film as a director, La terra dell’estate, is currently in production; she co-wrote the screenplay with Leonardo Fasoli. The film has been recognized by the MIC as being of particular artistic merit and is supported by the Eurimages fund.
