Mario La Torre

Mario La Torre is a full professor of Economics of Financial Intermediaries and Sustainable Finance and Impact Banking at the University of Rome “La Sapienza”.
He is a member of ADEIMF (Association of Lecturers in the Economics of Financial Intermediaries and Corporate Finance), the Wolpertinger Club (European Association of University Teachers in Banking and Finance) and the Scientific Committee of the Social Impact Agenda for Italy (SIA).
Author of numerous national and international publications, he is an expert in banking and financial markets, sustainable finance and impact finance, and finance in the audiovisual and cultural sectors. He is editor of the international series Palgrave Studies in Impact Finance.
He is currently a member of the Board of Directors of the Italian National Microcredit Agency and of Banca Popolare di Fondi, where he serves as Chair of the Sustainability Committee, and a member of the Higher Council for Cinema and Audiovisual Affairs at the Ministry of Culture.
He has held various institutional roles in the financial and cultural sectors, including as a member of the G8 Task Force on Social Impact Investment, advisor to the Minister for Cultural Heritage and Activities, member of the Board of Directors of Cinecittà Holding, and member of the Audiovisual Working Party at the Council of Europe.
He was a member of the Working Group for the definition of microcredit legislation (reform of Title V of the T.U.B.) and a member of Poste Italiane’s Working Group on the definition of technical regulations for financial products, as well as the drafter of the tax credit law for the audiovisual sector.
