Massimo Scaglioni is a Full Professor at the Faculty of Linguistics and Foreign Literature, where he teaches History of the Media and Economics and Marketing of the Media and Creative Industries, and is a member of the Executive Committee of the Department of Communication and Performing Arts.
He is Director of CeRTA (Centre for Research on Television and Audiovisual Media) and of the ‘Fare TV. Management, Development, Communication’ Master’s program at ALMED (UC’s Graduate School of Media, Communication and Performing Arts), where he teaches Theories and Techniques of the Television and Media System.
He is a member of the steering committee of the Fondazione Lombardia Film Commission (since January 2022).
He is a member of the Scientific Committee of CENVI (Centre for Research on Culture and Travel Narratives).
He is a member of the Scientific Committee of the Master’s program in Marketing, Digital Communication and Sales Management at Publitalia 80.
He is a member of the editorial board of the academic journals Comunicazioni Sociali (CS Journal), View – Journal of European Television History and Culture, Media Industries Journal, Series and Cinergie, and was a member of the editorial board of Bianco e Nero. He writes the Audipol column (with Anna Sfardini) for ComPol and ComPol 2.0.
Among his most recent publications: L’Altro virus. Comunicazione e disinformazione ai tempi del Covid-19 (co-edited with M. Sala, 2020), Cinema made in Italy. La circolazione internazionale dell’audiovisivo italiano (2020), A European Television Fiction Renaissance: Premium Production Models and Transnational Circulation (co-edited with L. Barra, 2021).
A journalist registered with the Lombardy Press Association, he has been a contributor to Corriere della Sera since 1999.
