Massimo Torre

A screenwriter for television and film, as well as a novelist, Massimo Torre made his debut with an episode of the series Un commissario a Roma starring Nino Manfredi (RAI, La Repubblica, France 3 and TF1, 1993) and the film Elvjs e Merilijn (Alia Film, Istituto Luce, Rai, 1993), which won the Globo d’Oro and awards at the Jerusalem Film Festival and the Sergio Amidei Prize. A story writer and head writer for Rai and Mediaset TV series, he is also a lecturer in screenwriting and a novelist. Among the most notable series he has written are Sotto il cielo dell’Africa (Guido and Maurizio de Angelis, Mediaset, Beta Taurus, Victory Multi Media Fonds, 1999), Linda e il Brigadiere (Junior Film International, Rai Fiction, 1997), Don Matteo (Lux Vide, Rai Fiction, 2000), Capri (Rai Fiction, 2006), Incantesimo (Rai, 1998), Caterina e le sue figlie (Mediaset, 2005), Carabinieri (RTI, Trend Film, Fidia Film, 2002), Elisa di Rivombrosa (Together Production International, 2003), I delitti del cuoco (Giuseppe Pedersoli, Luigi Forlai, 2010), Anna e i 5 (Magnolia Fiction, 2008), as well as several TV films. In recent years, he has set up two writers’ rooms for two different series projects. He is a member of the jury for the Solinas Award and vice-president of Writers Guild Italia, the Italian screenwriters’ union.
